Dr. Julissa Baez  M.D.  F. A. A. P

Dr. Baez is a compassionate, detail-oriented pediatrician treating patients in New York City. Her approach is to keep children healthy with preventative strategies, including proper diet, exercise, and timely pediatric interventions. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Medical Center where she is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Baez also works closely with the NYU College of Nursing and their Nurse Practitioner Program.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Baez received her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe, San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Since then, she has received special training in mental health diagnosis and management at the University of Buffalo and has conducted research with the American Academy of Pediatrics through their PROS (Pediatric Research in Office Settings) program. Topics of her research include onset of male sexual development and the screening of depression in teens.

 Dr. Baez was an Early Intervention Evaluator and Trainer for two private companies in NYC for 7 years.  She currently integrates these assessment strategies in her daily practice.

 Dr. Baez provides a full range of pediatric services. Developmental checkups, annual checkups, sick child visits, and sports physicals are available, as well as the administration of vaccines. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Baez enjoys traveling, growing her own vegetables, and cooking.
